WWYD? So tonight I was moving cars around the building, and I was tasked with moving the collectors. My first was a 1963 Corvette. A split-window coupe. This car has 22,000 miles, power windows, Air Conditioning and the Powerglide Automatic transmission. I rebuilt the carburetor last year and she runs great on 110 unleaded.
Last year I took her on the interstate to attend a regional auto show, and she showed me how she moves. How she can corner with ease and run down modded maximas.
Tonight she wanted to run...begging to be flogged across town....but I parked her and pulled the battery....Maybe next year babe

I feel bad when I drive my car less than a few miles at a time. Like I’m letting it down with such a short trip.

You lost me at powerglide, rode in a C2 vette with one, what a sad transmission to stick in a corvette. Then again I had just got done riding in a 427CI 67 Vette.

Agreed. The glide is all they had, and modified they can be great, but bone stock in ‘63 was ehhhhhhhhh by today’s standards.

just turn her over and rev up to redline three or four times - let her roar

Well the powerglide was only available in the lowest hp 327s (bottom 2 if I remember correctly) so it was just a sad performance car. I mean even the 3 speed would have been an improvement.
yeah a drag race ready powerglide is but that’s really their only good use. Had a 67 Camaro Convertible with a 250ci I6 and glide and what a sad car that was, plus it drank as much gas as my 68 SS Camaro.

wouldn't roar much, would actually be pretty quite and smooth since the powerglide was only available in the lowest hp 327ci V8s, which was the 250hp and I think the 300hp could get it.

This is a 300 hp car, and it purrs on the highway. It shifts to 2nd at 38 mph
